After buying my first set of food trucks in 2016, “Little Big Fatz” soon became the first fish fry and slider truck business in the area. The name was inspired by a childhood nickname given to me by my cousins, “Little Big Fat.” 

As we began doing more pop-ups, parties and special events, the business really began to take off. Our customers wanted more, and we realized Little Big Fatz needed a main hub - one that would bring our food to new heights. So, we began searching for a place in 2019, and in 2020, we found the perfect spot on Main Avenue in Wynantskill. 

Here in my hometown, we saw the opportunity to bring a good fish fry to the area and combine that with a popular sweet treat - ice cream. With lots of hard work, dedication and overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic, we opened Little Big Fatz, Wynantskill’s new Fish Fry and Scoop Shack, in March 2021. 

Tom Sweeney, my uncle, godfather and friend, who was set to be my business partner at the new location, sadly passed away in 2021, just before the shop was ready to open. Since then, he has been my inspiration to keep moving forward and make our business the best it can be. In his memory, we named one of our most popular burgers after him, The Sweeney.

Today, Little Big Fatz is Wynantskill’s one stop shop for fish frys and ice cream. We’ve crafted the menu to offer a variety of fresh seafood, ½ lb specialty burgers that are always hand-packed and fresh (never frozen), philly cheesesteaks, homemade chowders, soft and hard ice cream, sundaes, and much more. We knew the area needed delicious new food options, so we aimed to deliver just that. 

The support from our amazing customers has helped make our dream a reality and we are so thankful for where Little Big Fatz is today. It’s been an exciting journey, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds!
